This past week we have immersed ourselves in learning and being creative. On monday we started our Where I'm From poems. I really enjoyed this project. I feel that I was forced to look at myself from a different viewpoint. I was very reflective of my life and my family. I also found it very interesting to listen to what my classmates wrote about and hear where they're from. Our class is very small and I think we all trust each other to present in front of one another. I have learned more about myself and my peers. The Hate you poem that you read on Tuesday stuck with me. The word hate is not a big word but it is a strong word and this poem did a good job giving that message. This week I have been very creative and analytical. I really enjoying working on our creative writing, I can always write to the prompts that you suggest. Unlike in the beginning of this class when I was nervous to share a piece of my writing, now I feel confident and comfortable. Also, this week we discussed power and Identity, both relevant and applicable topics. I think studying identity is really important. We are all trying to create a name for ourselves trying to label one another and categorize people into groups. We are human, we are people, but we are not defined by what others see as.
